The HAMA 2023 Annual meeting will be held online Sunday, October 1st from 10 AM to 12 PM via Zoom. Registration is now open.

The Zoom room will open at 9:45 AM. Please arrive early. Your cameras and mics will be enabled before the meeting to give you an opportunity to say hello to your colleagues. Attendees may use the chat feature during the meeting to interact with other attendees and the hosts. 

We will have fantastic giveaways thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Only HAMA members are eligible for the giveaways. HAMA members who register for the Annual Meeting will be automatically entered in the giveaways. You must be present (in the Zoom room during the meeting) to win. 

The HAMA Board of Directors will share about their efforts in the past year to promote and advance the acupuncture medicine profession in Hawaii. The new HAMA Board of Directors will be introduced and tell you a bit about themselves. Dr. Jeffrey Tice, DACM, DAc. will give an update from the Maui Acupuncture Collective about their disaster relief work on Maui. Dr. Wai Low, DAOM, MBA, LAc. will report on the trainings provided by Acupuncturists Without Borders and the ICAOM students trip to Maui to assist the Maui Acupuncture Collective. The keynote speaker will be Jeffrey Dann, PhD, LAc. His presentation for the HAMA Annual Meeting will cover the twists and turns of his acupuncture and manual medicine path over the past 55 years.  Attendees will receive two (2) continuing education credits. 

Jeffrey Dann, PhD, LAc. has been studying Traditional East Asian Medical systems for over 55 years. He has studied acupuncture in Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Beijing. He was president of the Traditional Japanese Acupuncture Association of Hawaii for over 10 years. He was an adjunct faculty member in anthropology at UH Hilo from 1978 to 1986. He was a professor at the Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder. He taught acupuncture to the Turkish Medical Association in Istanbul annually for ten years. He has been the editor of the North American Journal of Acupuncture and has written numerous articles for that publication. He has been studying J. P Barral's osteopathic Visceral Manipulation since 2010 and now teaches classes integrating osteopathic manual techniques with the refined palpatory techniques of Meridian therapy.
